The Bank Nifty index remained under bearish pressure, breaching the crucial level of the 50-day exponential moving average (EMA) on a closing basis. The index is now eyeing its next immediate support at 47,400, and a breach below this level could intensify selling pressure towards the 47,050 mark, corresponding to the 100-day EMA. On the upside, the index faces immediate resistance at 48,000, where aggressive call writing is observed. A decisive breakthrough above this resistance level may trigger short-covering moves towards the 48,500 mark.

Frankfurt’s DAX stock exchange hits intra-day record high

rankfurt’s DAX index of blue-chip stocks rose to an intra-day record on Thursday on investors hopes of interest rate cuts this year.

The DAX advanced by 0.37 percent at around 1040 GMT to reach 18,567.30 points.

FOREX NEWS | Rupee ends flat as foreign banks’ dollar buys eat into uptick

The Indian rupee closed little changed on Thursday, tracking muted price action in most of its Asian peers and as dollar demand from custodian banks eroded the local unit’s early gains.

The rupee ended at 83.5075 against the U.S. dollar, barely changed from its previous close at 83.5175. The currency had risen to a high of 83.4475 early in the session, before shedding some of the gains.

The broader market witnessed volatility, underscoring caution on account of Q4 earnings and general election uncertainties, which led investors to stay on the sidelines. We expect the trend to continue in the short term as the market slid below the physiological level of 22,000.
