Bates Weston, a Derby-based firm of chartered accountants and business advisers, has promoted a longstanding member of its team to corporate finance partner.

Kate Evans has been with the firm for 20 years, initially joining her fellow corporate finance partners as executive, and since then, has established herself as a key member of the longstanding team.

She has extensive experience advising owner-managed businesses on transactions, having built a track record of guiding clients through complex deal processes, with particular expertise in business disposals and management buyouts.

“I am proud to be joining the Bates Weston Partnership, and I look forward to continuing my work with both new and existing clients,” said Evans. “Each client is unique and getting to know them, understand their business and their industry, while helping them achieve their goals is what drives us.”

Managing partner Wayne Thomas added: “Kate’s strong technical expertise, commercial insight and client‑focused approach make her a real asset to our corporate finance team.”

Bates Weston Corporate Finance advises on transactions in the range of £5m–£100m.

Chris Jones, corporate finance partner, said: “Kate’s appointment is very well deserved and further enhances our ability to support businesses in a market that seeks clear, confident advice.

“Moving forward, she will continue to expand the firm’s corporate finance capabilities, supporting clients with their exit plans and strategic goals.”
