For the first time in Ukraine’s history, seized virtual assets have been transferred to the ARMA for management.

This was announced by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko on his Telegram channel, according to Censor.NET.

As noted, over 8.3 million USDT – equivalent to more than 372 million UAH – has been transferred to ARMA’s crypto wallet today. This is the first instance in which seized crypto assets have effectively been transferred to state management.

Details

“These are digital assets that were held in crypto wallets controlled by a member of an international hacker group. According to the investigation, the fraudsters carried out cyberattacks on individuals and companies in Europe and the US, stole confidential information, demanded ransoms and laundered the proceeds in Ukraine through the purchase of property, cars and other high-value assets,” the statement reads.

Losses

According to Kravchenko, the estimated losses resulting from the group’s activities exceed 100 million US dollars.

Four members of the group, including the organiser, have been detained as part of the investigation. All are in custody. Assets worth over US$11.1 million have been seized: residential properties, flats, cars, US$1 million in cash and virtual assets equivalent to over US$8.3 million.
