Families and Friends sets Aug. 10 hearing on 2026 property taxes

The Families and Friends of Developmentally Disabled will hold a public hearing Aug. 10 to discuss its proposed 2026 property tax rates.

The hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the first-floor conference room of the Grundy County Courthouse in Trenton.

The proposed property tax rate for 2026 is 9.84 cents per $100 of assessed valuation, unchanged from the 2025 tax rate.

The total assessed valuation for the 2026 tax year is $161,127,936, including both real estate and personal property. That represents an increase of $4,470,729 compared with the previous tax year.

Property tax revenue budgeted for 2026 totals $158,549.89 for the general revenue fund.
