Leeds United set for very swift multi-million-pound windfall after August agreement – View
Leeds United sanctioned a sale for Crysencio Summerville to West Ham earlier in August for a reported £25million up-front fee, but with add-ons included on top of that.
Leeds still have plenty of work to do in the transfer market before the window shuts on August 30, including finding a way to properly replace two major outgoings.
Archie Gray was followed to the Premier League by Crysencio Summerville, joining West Ham on a long-term deal.
West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville transfer details revealed
It was confirmed earlier in August that West Ham had completed the signing of Summerville from Leeds, worryingly by virtue of a release clause triggered in the winger’s contract.
The fee has been reported by Sean Whetstone as being an initial £25million coming Leeds’ way, while including significant add-ons on several factors:
A further £5million could come Leeds’ way by virtue of performance-related bonuses, while international recognition for the Netherlands U21 man would bring another boost for the 49ers.

Leeds could be set to trigger add-ons fairly quickly in Summerville’s deal
The issue fans have with add-ons rather than the base fee being larger is that add-ons aren’t guaranteed to be triggered.
However, Leeds should be confident of their former winger being in a good place to meet the criteria of these clauses quite swiftly.
The most notable being that Leeds would be in line for a decent payoff if Summerville is called into the Netherlands senior team, something he won’t be far off at all after his transfer back into the Premier League, especially when looking at the turgid state of Ronald Koeman’s attack in Euro 2024 – in dire need of a refresh.
Summerville’s first international appearance could come as early as September, giving Leeds only a month to wait before the first add-on opportunity.
As for the rest of the winger’s add-ons on his own performance, he looks to be one part of an immense summer window for Julen Lopetegui thus far, contributing to the Irons returning to European competition having drastically improved their squad.
Should he hit the ground running, Leeds might be seeing a lot more than £25million for this year’s PSR calculations.
