PFS appoints ex-investment banker as chair as governance review finishes

Adviser professional body the Personal Finance Society (PFS) has appointed former CEO of private investment bank Insinger de Beaufort Group Piers White as independent chair following a governance review at the organisation.

The review was commissioned last April by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) to head off a rebellion that has seen several senior directors resign from the PFS board.

According to a release published today, the review was completed last year and one of the recommendations was to appoint an independent chair to oversee the organisation.
