Gardaí investigate as ‘property damaged’ following early morning shooting in Portlaoise, Offaly
The weapon was fired at the building early on Sunday morning
Gardaí in Portlaoise have launched a major investigation after a property was damaged in an early morning shooting at the weekend.
A weapon was discharged early in the hours of Sunday morning, April 21, in Offaly.
Luckily no injuries were reported.
A statement from gardaí today read: “Gardaí in Portlaoise are investigating following reports of a firearm discharged at a property in Edenderry, County Offaly in the early hours of Sunday morning, April 21.
“Damage was caused to the property. No persons were injured during the course of the incident.”
Investigations are continuing into the shooting.
Gardaí also appeal for any witnesses with camera or dashcam footage to make it available to them.
Anyone with information into the shooting is being asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station.
