Maynooth town centre property sold for 19pc over its auction guide

A local family outbid four other bidders recently to buy Rye House, Main Street, Maynooth, Co Kildare for €980,000. That was 19pc over the guide price quoted by auctioneers Sherry Fitzgerald Brady O’Flaherty.
Formerly occupied by a local motor factors retailer, Rye House comprises 2,100 sq ft of retail space and 1,120 sq ft of first-floor residential accommodation on a 0.15-acre site with enclosed rear yard including outbuildings.
It also enjoys frontage and vehicular access onto the Back Lane, which would lend itself to residential or commercial development. The purchasers are expected to redevelop the property for investment purposes.
