Property grants advice given at Co Wexford town’s roadshow
Advice on property grants was given to around forty people from across the district and surrounding areas at a Regeneration Roadshow event at The Tholsel.
Organised by the Regeneration department at Wexford County Council, Vacant Homes Officer Mick McCormack said the event gave people the opportunity to ask questions about their own properties.
The event was to enhance awareness and support for owners of vacant/derelict properties and sites to the various grants and programmes tailored to address vacant and derelict properties.
“Everyone’s story is different. A lot of people had specific queries in mind. Some were looking at properties in the town, while there were also queries from people living in south Kilkenny, Duncannon, Wellingtonbridge and other areas.”Describing the Croí Cónaithe Towns Fund grant as a fantastic opportunity for people as it amounts to up to €70,000, Mr McCormack said: “It’s not a loan, it’s a full grant. This is what we are trying to flag with people. In a housing crisis it’s nearly morally wrong to have houses lying vacant. We’ve created a new Regeneration unit to help realise our ambitions for the Town Centre First plans.”
