Integrated electrical services company Rulka Electricals on Monday announced that its initial public offering will hit the markets on Thursday to raise over Rs 26 crore. The Mumbai-headquartered company has fixed the price band for the issue at Rs 223-235 per share. The initial public offering (IPO) of Rulka Electricals Ltd (REL) will open on May 16 and conclude on May 21. The shares of the firm will be listed on the NSE’s SME platform Emerge, the company said in a statement.

SoftBank Q4 Results: Co swings to quarterly profit, eyes on Arm unit
Technology investor SoftBank Group swung to a net profit in the final quarter of its financial year, it said on Monday, as the Japanese giant focuses on artificial intelligence to help fuel a return to growth. SoftBank booked a profit of 328.9 billion yen ($2.11 billion) in January-March, compared to a loss of 32 billion yen a year earlier. Still, the second straight quarter of profit was not enough to keep it in the black for the full year.

VIX’s behaviour now has a lot of similarity to the period shortly before the 2019 electoral results announcement. Then too, markets had come off peaks in March, and VIX shot up to 28.6. The main difference is that prior to this, VIX was in a 20-14 range during the previous 6 months, pointing to volatility expectations being reasonably high for an extended period. In stark contrast, VIX’s rise from record lows to above 20 now, has unfolded in just a fortnight’s time. So, while recent history points to more room for upside in VIX and thereby volatility, the abruptness in the rate of change of VIX, may lead to a cool off, perhaps even before the electoral results.

This change in stance has been caused by the recent outperformance of China (Shanghai Composite up by 3.96% and Hang Seng up by 10.93% last one month) and underperformance of India ( Nifty down by 2.06% last one month). This is likely to be a near-term trend triggered by the cheap valuations of Chinese stocks and the relative high valuations of India.
