Stock Market LIVE: Sensex up 250 pts, Nifty tests 23,400; Paytm zooms 7% | News on Markets

Stock Market LIVE on Thursday, June 13, 2024: Indian bourses recorded fresh highs on Thursday buoyed by easing inflation figures. The BSE benchmark Sensex and the NSE Nifty reached new peaks at 77,145 and 23,481, respectively. The market, thereafter, pared some gains – the Sensex was up 250 points at 76,850 levels, while the Nifty 50 was seen hovering around the 23,400 levels. Nestle India, Mahindra and Mahindra, Ultratech Cement, Tata Motors, Titan and NTPC were the top gainers on Sensex, whereas HUL remained the top losers.

In the broader market, the BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices gained 0.6 per cent each. Among indices, Nifty IT, Nifty Realty and Nifty Financial Services shot up by 1.07 per cent, 1.36 per cent and 0.64 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Nifty Media and Nifty FMCG led the sectoral losses.
