OpenAI Unveils Role-Specific Codex Plugins for Finance, Marketing and Other Business Function

Share

OpenAI has launched a new suite of role-specific plugins for Codex, expanding the AI platform’s capabilities beyond software development and into a broader range of business workflows.

The company introduced six specialized plugins designed for knowledge workers, allowing users to leverage Codex without coding expertise. New offerings include tools for data analytics, creative production, sales, product design, public equity investing and investment banking.

The Data Analytics plugin enables analysts and business teams to answer questions using company data, while the Creative Production plugin supports marketing and creative teams in developing content and campaigns. Additional plugins include a Sales tool for customer-facing teams and a Product Design plugin that helps transform early-stage concepts into reviewable prototypes.

For financial professionals, OpenAI launched a Public Equity Investing plugin that helps users analyze market and company data, compare businesses, evaluate earnings results and monitor investment theses. The tool integrates information from providers including Moody’s, Daloopa, Datasite, FactSet, London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), S&P, PitchBook and Hebbia.

The new Investment Banking plugin is designed to help bankers convert research and due diligence materials into client-ready presentations and reports.

OpenAI said the role-specific plugins are rolling out to Codex users in supported regions, with additional plugins planned for Corporate Finance, Private Equity Investing, Marketing Strategy, Strategy Consulting and Legal professionals.

The company added that it is working toward an open ecosystem that will allow partners to create and deploy their own plugins directly within Codex and ChatGPT.

Separately, OpenAI announced a preview of a new capability that enables business and enterprise customers to create, host and share interactive websites and applications directly through Codex. The feature, called Sites, is being introduced through the Codex app for Business and Enterprise teams.

OpenAI also expanded Codex’s annotation capabilities, allowing users to refine AI-generated content across documents, spreadsheets and presentation slides.

According to the company, internal teams are already using Codex to build applications, create executive materials, develop dashboards and transform creative briefs into work products that align with brand and design requirements.
