Brodies posts 11% growth driven by UK investment and partner appointments

UK top 50 law firm Brodies LLP has recorded its sixteenth consecutive year of growth, reporting revenue of £138.8million for the financial year ending 30 April 2026, up 11% from £126.7million the previous year.

All the firm’s core practice areas: banking and finance, corporate and commercial, dispute resolution and risk, personal and family, and real estate made progress throughout the year, contributing to Brodies’ double-digit growth.

Operating profit increased to £54.8 million from just over £50 million, while cash balances at year end stood at £30.1 million up from £23.7 million the previous year. Profit per equity partner (PEP) was £930,000 for the year.

Brodies continued to invest in people throughout the year, with four new lateral partner appointments. Criminal defence lawyer Neil Hay, Leeds-based construction lawyer Bill Barton, oil and gas specialist Andy Russell and experienced litigator Graeme MacLeod contributed to a 7% increase in headcount, from 883 to 944 colleagues. All eligible colleagues will receive a firmwide bonus of 5%.

The firm added to its UK footprint opening an office in Leeds as well as adding further capacity to its Glasgow office. Implementation of Brodies’ AI strategy progressed, driven by a cross-discipline taskforce designed to selectively adopt the tools and increase the use cases it believes will best help clients and improve workplace efficiency.
