Charlie Shahi buys huge South Australian sheep station aggregation from Jumbuck Pastoral

Billionaire Charlie Shahin, the son of a Palestinian refugee family, has bought a group of South Australian sheep stations from Jumbuck Pastoral, whose owners, the MacLachlans, one of the country’s longest-established farming families, are divesting assets as part of a succession planning process.

The aggregation of the three neighbouring properties in the north of the state is considered one of the country’s largest sheep stations. Its sale, brokered by Elders, represents a once-in-a-lifetime transfer from one prominent South Australian family to another.
