Independent accountancy, business and tax advisory firm Clive Owen LLP has appointed Paul Williams as corporate finance executive, further strengthening its growing corporate finance team.

Paul joins from a Big Four accountancy firm after graduating from Newcastle University through its Flying Start degree programme, which combined academic study with practical industry experience.

During his training, he gained experience across sectors including banking and insurance and also spent time working in Bristol.

His appointment follows the recent recruitment of Michael Dickens as corporate finance manager and comes as Clive Owen continues to invest in its team and regional presence, including moves to larger premises in Newcastle and Darlington.

Paul said: “I am delighted to have joined Clive Owen at such an exciting time for the firm and corporate finance team.

“The opportunity to work closely with ambitious business owners, supporting them through every stage of their business journey was a major draw.

“The breadth and variety of the role, together with the chance to work alongside such an experienced and well-respected team, made it an opportunity I was eager to be part of.

“My experience working with banking and insurance clients has given me a strong commercial foundation, and I am looking forward to building on that as I develop relationships with clients and help them achieve their strategic ambitions.

“I am excited to contribute to the continued success and growth of the corporate finance team.”

Michael Cantwell, corporate finance partner at Clive Owen, added: “Paul has already gained excellent experience early in his career and brings a great deal of potential to the team and wider firm.

“Our corporate finance team continues to build significant momentum, with a strong pipeline of transactions and increasing demand from businesses across the region.

“We remain committed to growing the team and investing in talented people who share our values and ambition, enabling us to continue delivering high-quality advice and support to clients at every stage of their business journey.”
