School starts this week in Emporia — at least for USD 253 and Emporia Christian School.
Jump Start is Tuesday for students that are new to either their respective buildings or the district as a whole. The first full day of classes is Wednesday. Emporia Christian School also begins Wednesday, while Sacred Heart began classes this past Thursday.
Elsewhere across Lyon County, USD 251 North Lyon County and USD 252 Southern Lyon County both start Wednesday.

*USD 329 Wabaunsee begins Tuesday
*USD 244 Burlington, USD 284 Chase County, USD 330 Mission Valley, USD 389 Eureka, USD 417 Morris County all begin Thursday
*USD 434 Santa Fe Trail has students through 9th grade starting Thursday and students in grades 10-12 starting Friday
Already underway are USD 243 Lebo-Waverly, USD 245 Southern Coffey County, USD 386 Madison-Virgil, USD 420 Osage City, USD 421 Lyndon, USD 454 Burlingame and USD 456 Marais des Cygnes Valley.
