Larger body, familiar design

The Menglong Plus retains the brand’s “boxy” SUV styling, with squared headlights and a revised front grille. Compared with the existing Menglong PHEV, the Plus version grows to 4912 mm in length with a 2850 mm wheelbase, reflecting its positioning as a larger family-oriented SUV.

It also introduces LiDAR mounted on the roof, indicating support for advanced driver assistance functions, including highway and urban navigation assist.

A brief backstory, earlier filings and reports indicated that the Plus variant would introduce a longer wheelbase and an optional seven-seat configuration, marking a shift toward broader usability beyond off-road use. This positioning was first reported in February 2026, and earlier development details surfaced in 2025.

Hi4 system with extended EV range

The model is powered by GWM’s Hi4 plug-in hybrid system, combining a 1.5T engine with dual electric motors. Total system output reaches 330 kW and 660 Nm, with a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 5.8 seconds.

Three battery options are available, ranging from 23.7 kWh to 44.7 kWh. The largest pack enables a CLTC pure electric range of up to 255 km, while the total WLTC range exceeds 1,000 km. Energy consumption is listed at 21.4 kWh/100 km for electric operation.

Off-road and utility features

The Menglong Plus maintains off-road-oriented hardware, including a rear axle differential lock, crawl mode, and steering assist. Ground clearance reaches 221 mm, while the maximum wading depth is 580 mm.

The vehicle also offers both five-seat and seven-seat configurations, expanding its usability compared with the standard Menglong.

Cabin and equipment

Interior updates include a new three-spoke steering wheel and a digital cockpit setup with a full LCD instrument panel, head-up display, and a floating central screen. Physical buttons remain below the display.

Additional features include a panoramic sunroof, foldable second-row seats, and a side-opening tailgate with integrated storage.

Data context

According to China EV DataTracker, Haval recorded 24,520 domestic sales in March 2026, up 97.9% month-on-month but down 19.7% year-on-year, with a 1.5% market share.
