Haval GWM H10 is a 5.3m flagship that can “crab walk”, it starts at 31,700 USD

Great Wall Motor (GWM) has opened pre-sales for the Haval GWM H10, its new flagship plug-in hybrid SUV, offering four Hi4-powered variants across five-seat and six-seat configurations. The model starts at a limited-time promotional price of 214,800 yuan (31,700 USD), while the standard pre-sale price starts at 219,800 yuan (32,500 USD).

The H10 previously appeared in Chinese regulatory filings, but GWM has now confirmed the production lineup, pricing and final specifications. All pre-sale versions use the company’s Hi4 plug-in hybrid system and come with LiDAR as standard.

Two layouts share the same platform

The H10 is available in both five-seat and six-seat versions. The five-seat model measures 5,138 mm in length, while the six-seat version grows to 5,299 mm. Both share the same 3,000 mm wheelbase, 2,050 mm width and 1,970 mm height.

According to earlier regulatory information, the H10 is the first boxy SUV based on GWM’s Guiyuan platform, which also supports the Wey V9X. Unlike some traditional off-road-oriented SUVs, the H10 uses a unibody structure rather than a body-on-frame chassis.

GWM has also focused on improving the SUV’s all-terrain capability. The H10 uses an all-aluminium front double-wishbone suspension and rear five-link independent suspension, with EDC electromagnetic dampers fitted across the lineup.

The SUV offers 220 mm of ground clearance, a maximum wading depth of 600 mm, seven all-terrain driving modes, a nine-level crawl control system and an electronically controlled rear differential lock. Its departure angle is 30 degrees for the five-seat model and 25 degrees for the six-seat model.

The H10 also includes Crab Walk Mode, allowing the vehicle to move diagonally in tight environments.

Second-generation Hi4 system delivers 4.9-second acceleration

All H10 variants use GWM’s second-generation Hi4 plug-in hybrid system, combining a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine producing 123 kW with a 42.8 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery.

The hybrid system delivers a combined output of 440 kW and 722 Nm of torque, allowing the SUV to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.

GWM lists the H10 with a WLTC pure-electric range of 180 km, equivalent to 232 km under CLTC testing standards. The SUV’s CLTC comprehensive range reaches 1,404 km, while WLTC integrated fuel consumption is rated at 0.87 L/100 km. Under battery-depleted conditions, fuel consumption is listed at 6.6 L/100 km.

Although earlier regulatory filings revealed a 2.0-litre turbocharged version producing 175 kW, GWM’s current pre-sale lineup includes only the 1.5T Hi4 versions. The company has not confirmed when the 2.0T variant will enter the market.

LiDAR and Coffee Pilot 3 standard across the lineup

The H10 comes with GWM’s Coffee Pilot 3 intelligent driving assistance system. Unlike many rivals that limit LiDAR hardware to premium trims, GWM has made the sensor standard across all H10 versions.

The system combines 27 intelligent driving sensors to provide forward perception of up to 250 metres, lateral tracking of up to 120 metres, and rear monitoring of up to 150 metres.

Coffee Pilot 3 supports highway and urban Navigation on Autopilot (NOA), including functions such as roundabout handling, U-turn assistance, left turns across oncoming traffic and virtual lane generation in areas without clear road markings.

The SUV also supports a 3 km memory valet parking function, which can store up to 100 parking routes and perform automated reverse tracking over distances of up to 100 metres.

Inside, the H10 features a 15.6-inch central infotainment display, a 29-inch SR-HUD with a peak brightness of 13,000 nits and a 17.3-inch roof-mounted rear entertainment screen with P3 wide colour gamut support and AI image enhancement.

Other equipment includes a 7.7-litre smart refrigerator, a second-row folding table rated for 10 kg, rear privacy glass and rear sunshades.

Cargo capacity varies by configuration. The five-seat model provides 815 litres of storage space, expanding to 1,885 litres with the second row folded. The six-seat version offers 316 litres of standard cargo space, increasing to 1,056 litres when the third row is folded.

The launch comes as Haval faces increasing pressure in China’s competitive SUV market. Industry data shows the brand delivered 20,018 vehicles domestically in June 2026, down 41.3% year on year, according to China EV DataTracker. The H10 represents GWM’s latest attempt to strengthen Haval’s position in the growing large plug-in hybrid SUV segment.
