Travelodge is giving its on-site hotel bars a multi-million pound upgrade

Brits planning a staycation at a Travelodge in coming months could find themselves enjoying a drink or meal at the hotels’ brand new on-site bars.

The budget hotel chain already has a bar and cafe at most of its properties, but has revealed that its hotels will be getting the brand new 85 Bar Café as part of a multi-million pound investment.

That includes heaps of space for those who fancy a cocktail or pint, need a quick meal before heading out, or just want somewhere to hang out while waiting for friends and family to get ready.

Perks will include all-day dining, complete with a £14 Meal Deal that includes two courses, as well as a mix-and-match offer of some of their light bites. There will also be vegan and gluten-free dishes on offer. Meanwhile, families can still enjoy the Unlimited Breakfast offer where two kids under the age of 15 eat for free with a paying adult.

The hotel chain has already upgraded 18 of its hotels to feature the new bar, all of which are in London including: Central Covent Garden, Central Euston, London Finchley, London Finsbury Park, London Kings Cross Royal Scot, and London Waterloo. The next hotels due to be upgraded will also be in popular locations across Bath, Cambridge, Blackpool, Edinburgh, Brighton and Manchester.

Karen Broughton, Travelodge Chief Sales and Marketing Officer said: “We’re excited to announce the roll out of our new look Bar Café design, 85 Bar Café as we evolve our quality offering to deliver a better experience for our diverse mix of business and leisure guests.

“Our new Bar Café concept offers a modern atmosphere for all-day dining with a diverse menu to appeal to a variety of tastes. This inviting space is available for both guests and passers-by to enjoy a drink or bite to eat or to connect with friends, family or colleagues.

“All of this is at great value, including our Unlimited breakfast offer, with the added benefit of children eating for free. The expansion of 85 Bar Café forms part of a strategic hotel investment programme which will see us upgrade half of our rooms by 2024.”

It’s not Travelodge that’s upping the ante in time for the summer holidays. Earlier this month Butlin’s announced that it’s launching £25 all-inclusive drinks packages. The best part is that it’s not just soft drinks, fizzy pops and tea like some low-cost drinks discounts offer. The amazing value all-inclusive package includes cocktails, draught beers and ciders, wine, selected spirits, a range of soft drinks and Costa Coffee from ‘Proud to Serve’ venues.
