Hilton has announced the grand opening of Hilton Kathmandu, marking the hospitality giant’s entry into Nepal. Situated in the heart of the Kathmandu Valley, this flagship property is the tallest hotel in Kathmandu, offering guests unparalleled views of the mountains and hyper-personalized experiences.
Strategically located in Naxal, just four kilometers from Tribhuvan International Airport, Hilton Kathmandu is within minutes of major tourist attractions like Thamel and Durbar Marg, making it an ideal base for both business and leisure travelers. Owned and developed by the Shanker Group, this stunning property underscores Hilton’s robust growth and expansion in the Indian subcontinent.
The hotel features 172 rooms, including abodes and spacious presidential suites, all with views of the Langtang Valley‘s mountain ranges. The hotel’s glass façade, representing prayer flags, and the intricate patterns of traditional Nepali Dhaka fabric in staff uniforms and guest areas, showcase the country’s cultural heritage. The building maximises mountain views with floor-to-ceiling glass walls that bathe the interiors in natural light.

In terms of growth and expansion, the company signed 16 new hotels. These include popular brands like Taj, SeleQtions, and Ginger. They also opened six new hotels in various locations including Mahabaleshwar, Jamshedpur, Nagpur, Gangtok, and Srinagar. This aggressive expansion is likely to further boost their market presence and revenue streams.
Hilton Kathmandu incorporates eco-friendly practices, aiming to reduce its environmental footprint while delivering thoughtful guest experiences. The hotel offers two EV Charging Stations, a green fleet of electric vehicles, and a seismic-resilient building infrastructure equipped with shock absorbers, ensuring a secure stay for all guests.Hilton Kathmandu features five unique dining venues, each offering great culinary experiences that blend international and local flavors.
