Quick-acting police officers arrest two suspects and recover stolen property after Coventry robbery
A MAN was arrested and stolen recovery was recovered after a robbery in Coventry on Saturday.
Officers attended after reports of the raid in Lady Herbert’s Garden.
A real-time phone ‘ping’ on the stolen mobile led PC Davies, PC Miles and PC Bismillah to a property near Primrose Hill Park.
Officers searched the home and discovered the stolen property in one of the bedrooms. They arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and the property was handed over to the local investigations team for further enquiries.
Then yesterday, the officers went back out to review CCTV footage and patrol the same area. Within an hour of patrolling, the second suspect was identified. Officers recovered the stolen property and arrested the 20-year-old on suspicion of robbery.
Coventry Police praised its quick-thinking officers and added the neighbourhood team was working as part of local investigations to gain more CCTV footage and gather more intelligence to prevent further robberies happening in the city centre.
Anyone who witnesses a robbery should call 101 or 999 if the crime is in progress.
