Ashish Kacholia-backed Radiowalla Network announces IPO dates, price band

Ace investor Ashish Kacholia-backed Radiowalla Network, one of the leading providers of B2B customer engagement services, announced the launch of its IPO on March 27. As of the filing of RHP, Kacholi

The company is aiming to raise Rs 14.25 via this IPO, which closes on April 2. The issue size is of 18.75 lakh shares at face value of Rs 10 each.

The IPO is priced in the range of Rs 72-76 per share, where investors can bid for 1,600 shares in 1 lot and its multiples thereafter.

In the IPO, around 5.26 lakh shares will be allocated to anchor investors, around 3.53 lakh shares are reserved for qualified institutional buyers, 6.17 lakh shares of retail investors and the rest for non-institutional investors.

China yuan slides to four-month low, state banks step in

China’s yuan declined to a four-month low against the dollar on Friday, breaching a key threshold and prompting state-owned banks to step in to defend the currency. In the spot market, the onshore yuan fell to the weak side of the psychologically important 7.2 per dollar level to hit a low of 7.24, its softest since Nov. 17, 2023.

European stock markets diverge at open

Europe’s main stock markets opened mixed Friday following divergence across major Asian indices, as traders assessed the outlook for interest rates in a week dominated by central bank policy.

Tokyo stocks end higher

Tokyo shares ended higher on Friday after Wall Street stocks hit fresh all-time highs on optimism about the US economy and Fed policy.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 0.18 percent, or 72.77 points, to end at 40,888.43, while the broader Topix index added 0.61 percent, or 17.01 points, to 2,813.22.

Indian bond yields inch higher as states plan record debt sale next week

Indian government bond yields rose slightly in early trades on Friday, as states surprised traders with yet another record debt sale for the holiday-truncated last week of the financial year.

The benchmark 10-year yield was at 7.0574% as of 10:00 a.m. IST, following its previous close of 7.0477%, a trader with a private bank said.

Rupee weakens to over three-month low on weak Asia FX; forward premiums dip

The Indian rupee dropped to its lowest level in more than three months on Friday, tracking the weakness in its Asian peers and pressured by sustained dollar demand from local importers.

The rupee was at 83.3450 against the U.S. dollar as of 10:00 a.m. IST, weaker by 0.2% compared with its close at 83.1475 in the previous session.

The currency hit an intra-day low of 83.37, its weakest level since Dec. 13.

In the near-term the market is likely to consolidate around the present levels without sharp up moves or down moves. In view of the truncated next week with only three trading days, volumes have dipped significantly in recent days. This is likely to continue. However, big intraday dips are likely to be bought since DIIs are sitting on big cash and there is value in pockets of largecaps like banking. IT is likely to remain under pressure in view of the poor guidance from Accenture. Any sharp intraday up moves may face selling from FIIs since the US bond yields continue to remain high.

Global market construct continues to be supportive with the US and Japanese markets posting new record highs. A significant takeaway from the Fed chief’s message yesterday is the upward revision in the expected US GDP growth in 2024 to 2.1% from 1.4%. This augurs well for the global economy.
