Population cuts purchase of currency by 7% to USD 447 million in July

Net purchase of currency by the population in July of this year decreased by 7% to USD 447 million in equivalent.

This is evidenced by data from the National Bank, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Purchase of non-cash currency in July amounted to USD 391 million, and sales – to USD 444 million.

The volume of purchase of cash currency in July increased and amounted to USD 2.002 billion, and sales – to USD 1.502 billion.

Thus, the net purchase of cash currency by the population last month amounted to USD 500 million.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in May, the population bought the smallest volume of currency this year – USD 231 million.

Ukrainians bought 21.27 kg of gold in June (equivalent to USD 2.9 million), which is 12% more than in May.
