Newbridge Securities Corp. said Oct. 5 that it appointed Lou Basenese as managing director, investment banking and chief market strategist.

Basenese will work through Newbridge’s Investment Banking Department and be based at the Black River Management Ltd. Morristown branch office.

“Lou understands what companies must do to earn investor confidence and what investors need before committing capital,” said Joseph S. Glodek, managing principal of Black River Management Ltd. “His experience, relationships, and ability to identify and communicate differentiated opportunities will complement Newbridge’s investment banking capabilities and strengthen our business development efforts in the emerging growth market.”

Basenese has 25 years of experience across public and private markets, institutional investment consulting, equity analysis, corporate strategy, investment banking, and investor communications. He is also a nationally recognized financial market commentator and Fox Business contributor.

“His extensive capital markets experience, strong industry relationships, and nationally recognized market perspective will be valuable as we continue expanding our investment banking capabilities,” said Thomas J. Casolaro, co-CEO and chairman. “Lou’s appointment reflects our commitment to attracting experienced professionals who can create meaningful opportunities for our clients and the firm.”

Basenese will help originate and evaluate investment banking opportunities, advise public and private companies on capital formation and market positioning, and develop institutional investor relationships.

He will also provide market intelligence, macroeconomic analysis, and capital markets commentary for Newbridge, the Black River branch, clients, and broader audiences, as appropriate.
