TikTok creator Clayton Rice stays jailed as judge keeps cash-only bond unchanged

Share

CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. — Popular TikTok creator and Pamlico County native Clayton Rice will remain in custody following a bond hearing at the Carteret County Courthouse.

During the hearing, the judge declined to lower Rice’s current $20,000 cash-only bond, saying he was uncomfortable changing the bond conditions without the previous judge present.

Rice is accused of keeping more than $21,000 for a job that was allegedly left unfinished. He also faces similar felony larceny charges in Pamlico County.

This case follows previous developments in Rice’s legal situation.

His next court date is set for May 4, when the original judge is expected to be present.
