Property raffle in Spain attracts over 40,000 people

MORE than 40,000 tickets have been sold in a Malaga property raffle offering buyers the chance to win a brand-new home for the price of a cinema ticket.

In total, two newly built houses in the village of Cuevas del Becerro, near the Caminito del Rey will be handed to the winners.

Each ticket to take part in the draw costs just €10.

The Malaga-based architecture firm Arkipromo has issued 200,000 tickets in total, meaning around one in five have already been sold.

Each property is valued at €180,000, with the winners also receiving a €20,000 cash voucher to furnish their new home.

The 100sqm houses each feature three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, a balcony and a private patio.

The raffle is open to adults legally resident in Spain, with entries available online until October 1.

Each property is valued at €180,000

The draw will be held before a notary on October 2, with the company covering the property transfer costs, notary fees and the initial tax payment required by law.
