Share

Midlands law firm Sydney Mitchell has appointed commercial property specialist Ben Lyons as a partner, further strengthening its real estate offering across the region.

Ben joins the firm from Knights LLP, formerly Thursfields Solicitors, where he was a senior associate in the commercial real estate team.

He brings more than a decade of experience advising clients on a wide range of commercial property matters across the West Midlands.

Based at Sydney Mitchell’s Birmingham office, Ben will advise landlords, tenants, investors, lenders, borrowers, charities and executors on the acquisition, disposal and management of commercial property assets.

He joins a commercial property team led by partner Shilpa Unarkat and will work alongside colleagues including Rupesh Patel and Raj Sahota.

Ben said: “My areas of focus include commercial property sales and purchases, commercial landlord and tenant matters, site development, and secured lending and finance.

“I am incredibly excited to join the team at Sydney Mitchell.

“In particular, I am looking forward to the opportunity to contribute to a multi-disciplinary firm with a prestigious 260-year heritage, while working with award winning colleagues on complex cases, and delivering the strategic advice for which the firm is renowned.”

Shilpa added: “Our team is known for being dedicated and proactive, and always committed to understanding our clients’ businesses thoroughly.

“Ben has these qualities in spades as well as proven commercial property law expertise, and represents a strong addition to both the team and the firm as a whole.

“He joins as Sydney Mitchell continues to drive and invest in strengthening its position within the Midlands legal market.”

Founded more than 260 years ago, Sydney Mitchell operates from offices in Birmingham and Solihull and is recognised by The Legal 500 for its commercial property expertise.
