Aldermore has appointed Andy Porter (pictured) as business development manager (BDM) within its commercial real estate (CRE) team.

Porter brings more than 20 years’ experience across property finance, commercial banking and credit risk.

He joins Aldermore from United Trust Bank, where he was senior director of property development.

Throughout his career, Porter has worked closely with property investors and developers, supporting projects of varying sizes and complexities and helping customers secure funding to bring their plans to life.

Before joining United Trust Bank, he spent more than 12 years at Close Brothers Property Finance, progressing from senior business development manager to business development director.

Andy has also held senior roles at Barclays and RBS, where he worked across corporate banking, relationship management and credit risk.

Azfar Rizvi, commercial director for corporate and commercial lending at Aldermore, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Andy to the CRE team.

“His extensive experience across property development finance, commercial banking and credit risk will be a real asset to our team and, importantly, to the customers and brokers we support.

“As part of our continued investment in Property Development, we’re focused on expanding  our support for developers across the UK and helping bring forward high-quality residential and commercial schemes.

“Andy’s appointment further strengthens our capabilities in this area and reflects our ambition to support more customers in bringing high-quality projects to life.”

Porter added: “Having spent many years working closely with property investors and developers, I was attracted to Aldermore’s  relationship-led approach and its commitment to providing long-term support.

“Aldermore has a strong reputation for understanding its customers and taking a flexible, pragmatic approach to funding.

“I’m looking forward to working closely with brokers and customers to identify new opportunities and deliver funding solutions that support their long-term ambitions.”
